Singer, Songwriter, Producer and Performer

One half of Irish garage punk blues duo The Bonnevilles Andy McGibbon released his solo album Northern Gothic on Blues For The Red Sun records in 2020.

".. a groovy, emotionally engaging and hugely atmospheric lo-fi 'soundtrack to an imaginary film' which finds Lurgan greaser/renaissance man expanding his musical palate beyond the wildly entertaining fuzz 'n' thump of his esteemed garage punk blues duo."

David Roy - The Irish News

Northern. Gothic was nominated for "Best Album" Northern Ireland Music Prize 2021.

Andy's current work "an madra rua" is as different again incorporating Irish myth and Folklore, his deep fascination with Lough Neagh weaving stories of Lí Ban, the Pooka and nature into song and stories in an exploration to find a deeper meaning and how that can be understood and used practically in our modern lives.

A large part of Andy's performances involves story telling about how the songs came to be, the characters that inhabit them.  Two sold out solo shows in Belfast's American Bar and The Sunflower with a full band showcase were a good rehearsal for his plans for 2023. A new album titled "An Madra Rua", a new Bonneville's record and finishing the year with "Northern Gothic 2".

We're pleased to be representing Andrew here at Motor Sounds Records.

Music for Liberties Whiskey 2022

Andrew provided 4 pieces of music for Liberties Whiskey for an online ad campaign.  A fast turnaround with unique features.  Dark, sexy, groovy were a few of the words used in the brief and Andrew knocked it out of the park with the 4 submissions.  Capable of writing to brief, providing fast turnarounds get in touch if you have a project that needs a signature soundtrack.
